This site is dedicated to the memory of John Andrew Gooch.

In loving memory of my dad. John was born a twin to his brother Edwin on May 30th 1929, one of 5 siblings in Bacton, Norfolk. He left Bacton at the age of 17 ½ and joined the RAF in 1946, he served 6 years, 3 in Egypt where he received a medal for serving in the Suez Canal, of which he was very proud. He was demobbed in 1952 and went to London, where he met Eileen in April 1953 and they married in October that year. They had 3 children He loved being with his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He worked as a baker for the ‘Crusty Cob’ for 25 years. He became a DJ for private functions and a Country and Western DJ working up to 7 evenings a week in different pubs. He played in a pub called The Merrick for many years. He enjoyed watching many sports especially snooker and darts. War films and documentaries were amongst his favourite programmes. He had a good sense of humour and enjoyed watching Only Fools and Horses and Mrs Brown’s Boys. He was a loving, caring, considerate and generous man in many ways. He supported and guided his family throughout his life, for which they are eternally grateful.
